Good Morning Gjallarhorn Episode 027 – Purple Pain

Good morning Horners! The whole gang is here today, Ted, Drew, and myself looking forward to the Minnesota Vikings hosting the New Orleans Saints on Sunday night. This is a very big game with playoff implications at the halfway point of the season. The Saints are coming in with a 5-1 record. The Vikings currently rest on a three-game winning streak at 4-2-1, and both teams look to return to the playoffs at the end of the season and this game can help determine seeding.

We start out with Drew looking for a streak that we haven’t seen in a while. Move on to some interesting numbers, then ask about injuries. Ted wonders about our feelings towards the Saints and other teams, some sources of pain in our Vikings fandom. We talk about the Minneapolis Miracle and wonder if that helped any of those feelings? If you didn’t know already, there are a lot of Vikings fans that do not like, at least, the current iteration or regime down in New Orleans, and how they play football.

We talk about the running game, and without Dalvin Cook, how Latavius Murray, Roc Thomas, and Mike Boone are getting the job done. I wonder why Brett Jones isn’t playing guard with Tom Compton out. Danny Isidora filled in after the injury last week, and will again Sunday. We definitely hope he has a better game. The way the game looks on paper, expect a lot of passing, and the need for pass protection by the Vikings.
